FIRST SCULPTOR-IN-RESIDENCE to the household Cavalry MOUNTED REGIMENT

I am thrilled and honoured to announce that the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment have invited me to become their first ever official Sculptor-in-Residence.

Together we will commemorate the role played by this historic regiment’s horses at our most important national events, and celebrate the new King’s reign, through three special edition bronzes. I will sculpt three unique horses: the first ever mare Drum horse, ‘Juno’; the Life Guard Charger, ‘Verona’; and the Blues and Royals Standard Horse, ‘Hastings’. These main characters will act as representatives for the over one hundred magnificent animals who work daily at the barracks, alongside their officers and soldiers.

Work is already underway and the last few months have been unbelievable. Getting to know the HCMR has been a complete joy. From learning all about the different tack and state kit, their traditions and extraordinary quantities of apples and carrots, everything is expertly done and totally awe-inspiring. It has been a delight to meet the horses, officers and soldiers (all of whom have a favourite horse), vets, farriers and to see everything that goes on behind the scenes. Altogether it makes me very proud to be British.

Follow along for updates on the sculptures, which will be part of a limited edition for sale, and the horses (of course!). There will be a few surprises on the way and an extremely special event to unveil the sculptures later this year.

For now, the armatures for the sculptures have just been welded and the modelling can commence!

Stay tuned, this is going to be one hell of a ride.
